Maldives has been nominated in the “Seven Star Destination Winner” category along with 21 other destination that include: Abu Dhabi, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Brazil, Dubai, Fiji , France, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Jamaica, Mauritius, Mexico, Peru, Seychelles, Singapore, South Korea, St Lucia, Turkey and Turks & Caicos.

The awards to be held at the Villa Padierna Palace Hotel, Marbella, Spain on the 28th of June 2013. Seven Star Global Luxury awards points out that only the pinnacle of luxury enters the its ranks and to be nominated by itself is a huge accomplishment in itself to the Maldives.  The Seven Star Global Luxury Awards recognizes extraordinary achievements in the Hospitality and lifestyle sector by bestowing the Signum Virtutis – the seal of excellence.
