Maldives shines again after a remarkable week at the World Trade Awards 2011, taking away 9 of the most coveted titles -  and this month it’s now announcing yet another high profile property launch - Viceroy Maldives Hotels and Resorts, to debut end of the end of 2011.

The Viceroy brand has been tirelessly promoting the new addition coming close in the heels of successful property launches in Miami, Snowmass in Colorado and Anguilla in the Caribbean -  all of which were opened recently.

Viceroy Hotel Group Founder and CEO Brad Korzen say, “This is a very exciting time for us. Viceroy Maldives will be unlike any property we have seen in this market, with unparalleled design, style and service that will deliver a remarkable experience for guests. “

With a breathtakingly beautiful design by Canadian design-duo Yabu Pushelberg, the hotel instantly gains top reviews. The design takes to heart the pristine beauty of the islands. Not wishing compete with nature, the 61-villa island resort boasts a beach house-in-paradise look; with winding, leafy walkways, subtle unexpected details in furniture, whitewashed wood and an exotic Moroccan tree-house lounge. Naturally occurring rustic materials and surprising patterns have been used to allow the resort to exude sophistication without feeling ostentatious.  With the smallest villa measuring over 1,300 square feet and the largest measuring over 3,000 square feet, Viceroy Maldives features some of the most spacious accommodations in the Maldives. It’s best enjoyed barefoot.

The owners have more than one reason to be proud though, since being located in the excluded Shaviani Atoll, Viceroy is naturally blessed with exquisite private beaches and a naturally pristine coral reef. The resort aims to compliment this with 5 world-class dining venues; offering everything from high-end steak and seafood fare - to its very own underground wine cellar.

Guest accommodation is generously located on white-sand beachfront locations replete with private plunge-pools and nestled outdoor areas offering guests unadulterated privacy. And if that’s not enough, the over-water spa is another feature for those seeking, holistic natural well-being. It offers couple and individual treatment rooms and allows guests to participate in healthy cooking demonstrations, Ayurvedic treatments and yoga classes. Unobstructed views of the ocean, exciting water-sports arrays and breathtaking coral reefs are just a few of the reasons why Viceroy is expectant to welcome guests to the resort - to sample in one of the best hospitality products that the Maldives has to offer recently.

Overseeing guests during their stay will be a star service-team led by Uday Rao, who serves as General Manager, overseeing all of the resorts operations. Having most recently held the title of Hotel Manager at the Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai, Uday brings with him 19 years of managerial experience in the hospitality industry. The Viceroy Hotel Group President Nicholas Clayton says that he is confident Uday and his team will bring a continually global focus to their newest and prized Hotel in the Maldives.

Viceroy Maldives is developed by Maldives-based luxury hotel developer, EoN Resorts, in partnership with Mubadala Development Company. Mubadala is a 50% shareholder in Viceroy Hotel Group, and is actively driving the expansion of the luxury Viceroy Hotels and Resorts brand into key gateway cities and destinations across the globe.
